Belt tensioner

Ok weird question I’m replacing my 4.9 motor in my 87 with a motor out of a 95 that I have rebuilt. The belt tensioner on my 87 power steering pump mount is not working so I got the one off the 95 motor. When I went to swap them out on the backside of the tensioner there is suppose to be a Built in pin for lack of a better term that is missing their is a hole in the power-steering mount the pin goes in to lock it in position and then the bolt goes through the pulley to hold it on. The tensioner off of the 95 the pin is much larger that the hole In the power-steering mount off of the 87. I like the newer tensioner because it has a place for a 3/8 ratchet so you can move the tensioner were as the 87 tensioner did not have. When I look it up online the part num

This is the backside of tensioner. Note there is no pin or nub for it to lock in a hole

This is where the 95 belt tensioner mounts on notice the hole is much larger
ber for both years are the same. Has anyone else ran into this? The hole on the 95 mount has a bigger hole for the pin but looks wallered out. I could just drill it out but don’t really want to do that if it’s not the correct tensioner.

the pin is used to help keep it from spinning when belt is put on and spring applies tension, its not absolutely needed if bolt is tight enough, just one more safer than sorry...go figure. Mustang guys used to grind the pin down, when bypassing smog pump, so they could clock it a little different to run shorter belt.

Went and bought a new tensioner the new pin was correct. Thanks
