Update, recharge done, I was down about 5 oz. The machine did not find any excess oil so was ok there. Recharge seemed to help by a few degrees, but still not fully as I would expected. Temps outside after recharge were still not that hot, about 84 degrees.
However, I drove down to the coast towing boat 10K load and temp was 90 degrees going down. It was cool in the cab but ran with temp turned down as cold as possible (60 degrees) and I never got too cold. Temp from vent was down to about 57 when driving about 70mph and one section of highway that was shaded, you could feel cooling down more until in the full sun.
Coming back with Excursion sitting in sun all day and extremely hot, around town it never got more than 68 degrees in the vent. Until I was able to get out of town and get to highway speeds for about a 1/2 hour did I get the temp back down to around 58 to 60.
So, last resort now is for me to replace the Evaporator core. Still on the fence whether I want that challenge....calling mechanic to see what they will charge to replace it and go from there.

The biggest challenge with the core is that you have to drain the entire ac system which is not something most people can do properly at home.

True, we take it to the dealership to evacuate the freon first if we work on it.

Hey folks, an update and some thoughts/questions....
So since last update, over time the air is not as cold as it was after the updates. I know for a fact that there is still some residual particles in the system, so the orifice tube is most likely partially clogged, so will replace it in a couple weeks when I get the time.

However, I found out that they have different types of orifice tubes. Over 105 and under 105 degrees, then the standard oem.

I am not sure what the standard OEM is from the others....but would it make sense to use the over 105 degrees (for extreme temperature areas) now that we easily have hotter summers? At least here in NC, the temps near 100, sometimes a bit over and high humidity really works the AC.

I also need to change out the rear expansion valve.

Airflow through all coils (condenser, radiator, tranny cooler) in the front is very important.

i just changed mine along with the TXv and rear evaporator

Yeah, I caught that when you posted earlier. Now you have me wanting to go back and replace it. I'll wait till I have an Issue, it's probably clean as the rear works really well, and the front strainer was barely dirty. I've opened up my system probably 4 times now since I bought it, 3 times just in the last year.
