What is this " switch "

1954 one ton, never saw this before . Looks like a vacuum fitting on outside it is located high under dash above high beam switch . Any ideas?

Maybe, manually operated windshield washer pump, the fitting (should be two) is fluid in and out ?

To me it looks like the old starter switches that were on the floor next to the gas pedal, but I'll go with windshield washer pump.

That was my thought too but only one fitting

That is the optional "See Clear" windshield washer foot pedal and diaphragm. My 55 F350 has one. It was missing the bottle and hoses. I bought a bottle from MidFifty. You should have a nozzle on your hood.

here's a more recent pic with the decal on the bracket.

Krout, your original firewall pad looks to be in good shape.

Thanks Abe, Never saw this set up before. All the related parts are long gone including the hood nozzle, (Not from me but previous owners ). How well does it work ? I might think about hooking it up again. And yes , the firewall and engine compartment are still in nice shape
