So I ran into another problem tonight and noticed something weird. I was under the truck sticking in the new VSS into my np205. I noticed that I had not pulled the speedo cable all the way off the truck.
I thought that the speedo cable was all one piece and just went through the firewall. But mine does not. It is threaded in to a device which I think was place in the truck (after market maybe) . Because it has two wires coming from it.
Which makes me think someone was trying to put in another type of VSS.
I see no reason for it having wires if this did come with the original truck.
And now we know...I just posted it for a pictorial guide. I do not have the 2 piece cable diagram because you have never posted it. No saying that was the have to have part #'s. That is YOUR job. Lol Welcome back around.
TWO piece upper and lower speedometer cables are basic part number 9A820 .. not 17260.
OP failed to mention what he's working on, all he says is '77 4WD .. Once I know, will type the two part numbers/sources(if any).
F150 4WD?? or F250 4WD?? // A/T or M/T? // Part Time or Full Time??// What are the last 6 digits of the VIN??
Its all good Number dummy, I was wanting to know more of what this was since I'm removing the cable system out of the truck and installing VSS into it.
But Its a 77 f250 400 4x4 with c6 married transfer case
