Speedo Jumps
Hi, My speedo in my 73 was jumping around and making noise so I lubed the cable and the back of the speedo and it helped for awhile. Now sometimes it will jump for awhile and then works fine. Any ideas on what I should do I used graphite on the speedo and cable.

Jumpy speedos are typically caused by a damaged cable... a kinked cable in the sleeve grabs and then when enough twisting force is applied it releases which is causing the indication to spike. The likely solution is to install a new cable.

I agree. Problems can also be caused by dried lubricant or cables with sharp bends. Whatever the reason, a new cable & sheath, installed properly, will likely cure the problem.
