How do you set the navigation volume??

How do you set the navigation volume??
I just can't seem to figure it out and it's driving me nuts..
The navigation volume is much louder than the radio and even if I reduce the volume with the controls on the steering wheel or dash it comes back just as loud the next time.
I looked and have not been able to find out how to set the volume lower...
