Radio help
I have the 6-disc radio non-nav . The mp3 jack doesn't work and the steering wheel radio controls doesn't work . I have figured out that the dash has been apart . Is there a possibility that something didn't get plugged back up ? I don't know how the radio wiring and plug crap works .

If the dash has been apart the stereo may be your culprit. And I don't mean its got a fault, it probably came out of something else. If the stereo wasn't flashed with the truck options you won't have the full capabilities of it. I added a new steering wheel to my truck that had stereo controls since my truck didn't come with it (XLT) and I had to replace the stereo with one that came out of a vehicle that had the steering wheel controls on it. Same thing goes with the aux input jack. You may have to find another stereo if this truely is the problem. I purchased one off ebay.

The 3.5mm jack comes out by itself and has a plug on back. Mine also didn't work, tried replacing the jack and having Ford go through the system, turns out I just needed a new head unit. Seems like Ford wanted $300+, got one off ebay for under $50 shipped.
