2012 Expedition speedometer/Speed Sensor Issue
I have a 2012 Expedition that has intermittent issues with the transmission not shifting. It appears that when this happens, the speedometer doesn’t move and therefor does not show a speed. With no speed from the speedometer, then I guess the output speed sensor can’t tell the transmission to shift out of the low gear. So my question is, is it in fact the speed sensor or is my instrument cluster going bad? Of course my model has the 6R80 transmission with lead frame and the sensor is all internal and not on the outside like other transmission. Very costly to replace. Any ideas? What I don’t want to happen is to replace it and it be the instrument cluster or something else.
