Can anyone tell me where the speed sensor is located on an 03 expedition? My speedometer is not working and I want to check the connection. Also is there a blown fuse circuit that cause this?
Condition:
The speedometer/odometer is inoperative
Possible Sources
-Circuitry
-Powertrain control module (PCM)
-Instrument cluster
Looking through the Service Manual and Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis Manual you really can't do much without some expensive test tools. I would suggest going to your dealer.
On other Ford trucks the speed sensor is located on top of the rear differential. It "reads" the road speed by counting the revolutions of the ring gear.
I cannot imagine that the Expy would be different from other Ford trucks.
the speedo stopped working after hitting a rather large puddle.
I thought I would check the speed sensor/pickup connections if I could find out wher they are located.
