‘00 F250 4x4, 330k on the clock. Have a steering issue which has been narrowed to the gearbox. Lots of up / down movement in the output shaft and and max left turn, can see shaft shift side to side.
been reading on gearboxes.. have no intentions of going with a parts store new house brand or one of their rebuilds. I’ve read about the Red-Head’s and a little on the blue tops. Which of the two are you alls suggestion? Or do you have another that will not break the bank?
I’ve found several distributors selling blue tops, but they aren’t listed by manufacturer, just Blue Top. Last thing I want to do is order one and it comes in as a spray painted knock off. So who builds the blue tops?
Update... I’m an idiot.. smh.. found the manufacturer..

I got my blue top from Fernando at Rd2FuelSystems - https://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/cat...Systems/posts/
Excellent customer service even after the sale. Super fast shipping and took my core with a speedy refund. I have no reservations recommending him. He'll respond to facebook messaging in the wee hours of the night too. I don't think the dude sleeps.
i forgot to mention blue top refunded my core quickly, within a couple of days
I put a motorcraft steering box on neighbors truck a couple weeks back, and removed the inner fender, i would highly recommend taking the 10 mins to do this for ease of access.
