4 wheelers

I need some advice on 4 wheelers. What is good on the market. I am looking for a 4x4 at least 300cc. A Wolverine has been suggested to me but I think they go for over 5k, I am looking to spend more like 4k. My Dad has a Honda Fourtrax 300 2wd, I would not mind having one like that only 4x4. I can't find such an animal on the internet.

What do you guys have?

I don't have a four wheeler right now, but when I buy my property I'm planning on buying a Honda. Not sure on the model yet, depends on land layout and need. Definitely a Honda though. That's just me. I raced for Honda back in the late '80s and they were good to me, can't go against them now. Ride the Red. No Wing, No Prayer.

The very best one I had, for stability and handling, was a Polaris Sportsman, with independent rear suspension and a good powerful engine. It was very stable in all terrains, with no bad attitudes on sideslopes, or on uneven attitude gullies.

The very worst, that almost killed me, was a Yamaha Grizzly, with solid rear axle. On certain slopes, that rear end will tip you over. It tried to do it to me over a 30 foot drop. I managed somehow, to avoid this, I am sure my boss was on there with me.

Another good one, is the Suzuki King Quad with a 300cc engine and a 3 speed transfer case.. Very nice, stable and safe. I had one but traded real soon for the larger engined polaris.

I will be buying another Polaris some time soon.

You won't be able to find a new 4x4 for that price, a quality one any way. A good, fast, reliable, sporty, fun, etc would be a 250 polaris trail blazer, its lighter and more sporty then the trail boss not to mention cheaper.

I am starting to realize that. I think I can get one of these for a little over 5. I love the solid black. The Wolverine is a Warrior with a 4x4 transmission. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

I had a Warrior at one time and loved it. I have no complaints at all about it. I now have a Polaris Scrambler 500 4X4 with an Explorer 400 high/low tranny installed. This is a machine! I have installed 25 inch Super Swampers all around and have yet to be stuck. Polaris doesn't make these with the high/low trannies but they can be made. This gives you the best of both worlds, able to pull your buddies out of the mud and able to scream down the trail. Good luck on your choice!
