I just got a card in snail mail inviting me to participate in a class-action lawsuit against Ford for not fixing the problem. Apparently from the card, some were charged to fix the problem and some didn't get it permanently fixed.
I got the class action suit card in the mail today too.
I made it through 3 Maine winters without the latches freezing on my 2017 so I never had the recall done. I traded that truck in for a 2020 so hopefully they have the issue fixed or I'm lucky again.

Some people have latch freeze up problems, some never do. Originally, Ford sent out a recall letter to SOME owners explaining that they should bring their trucks in to have Recall FSA-17S33 completed. This involved the addition of some water shields inside the door. I was one of those people and brought my truck in. When they completed the recall work the invoice that printed out stated that there was also a "Customer Program Modification" 18N03 that should be done. My dealer ordered the parts and a week later did the install. This one is obvious. It involves some white silicone rubber shields over the latch in the door. This isn't a recall. It's more of a "if he complains then do this" sort of thing. I've never had a freeze up problem since.
The class action only applies to those that had some out of pocket expenses related to this defect like having repairs done before there was an official recall.

If you haven’t had any problems with your door latches, don’t waste your time.
The only people who’ll make money from this class action lawsuit are the lawyers and the firm who’s handling it.
There might be some exceptions but the owners who’ve reported door latch problems are owners who live in an area that has real winters.

Yeah, we have a few cold nights here but if I did have the freezing problem they're prolly thawed before I get up and out. I've had the local Ford dealer email me trying to get me to let them do the two recalls on my truck but I don't see much reason for me to do it.

I hear you man.
I also received two recalls for my 2016.
One for the door latch and the other for the wire insulation.
A few months back when I had my F150 in for an APIM replacement that was done under warranty, I specifically told my dealer not to do either of the recalls that was on my Ford Pass account.
I got the card yesterday 09/04/20 I read it and what a joke. My dealer said they would do it and I said if I have a problem I will let you fix it. We don't have many freezing days down here in central Texas.

I got two of them in the mail and threw them both away. Our 2018 has never had any issues in the winter and it sits outside everyday while my wife is working and my 2019 F250 isn't part of the suit because it was made after the cutoff date.
I got the card and glanced over it. After reading this forum, I just read the entire thing. Here I thought it was for door latches not seating correctly. My 2016 passenger side door is constantly not closing correctly and the driver side is only slightly better. I've only owned it 2 years now, it is not driven very often and I've had to tell the passenger at least 30+ times on different occasions that your door is not shut. Never had the problem once with my 2000 f-150 that I owned almost 20 years.

It has the Supercab option.
I've owned 7 Supercabs since 1992 and never had that issue. Your latch or striker must need an adjustment. Should be an easy DIY project or take it to the dealer or a body shop that you trust. Should be free at the dealer if your bumper to bumper warranty hasn't expired.
I asked the dealer about it a year ago on my '17, or whenever the recall was. They said if I didn't have a problem don't mess with it, no reason for them to lie it is just repair money they lose even if it is below their normal shop rate. I got the card in the mail recently. I signed up for the air bag payment after everything was said and done, either take some of the money or the lawyers get more, anyway the lawyers conveniently declined my application claiming I had no standing. I owned an effected Mustang since '13 and still do to this day. I am sure this will turn in much the same, ambulance chaser types will extort a bunch of cash out of Ford then screw all the people who were effected and keep most of it as their payment.
People been mixing (including myself a bit) the "freeze recall" and the door bounce. I'm fairly adept when it comes to turning a wrench and my door "bounce".......I'm convinced it just needs a new latch. People keep referring to "adjustments" and I just don't see it. Next oil change/tire rotation it goes in for the door bounce problem. I live in NJ so no need for freeze recall.
