I have a small problem with my altman latch set - installed exactly as per instructions, closes perfectly nice and smooth.
The problem is the latches pop open 1 click for no obvious reason - you can be driving along on a smooth section of road and the door just unlatches halfway. I have tried so far:
*Every adjustment possible to striker
*Replaced internal door handle mechanism with new/fully greased up
*Changed door weatherstrip (its not holding the door too far out)
*removed set screw in door handle button to give more clearance
*Adding an extra spring to the lever that unlatches the mechanism so its held back more firmly
The latches definantly click twice when you close them so would appear to be latching correctly. I'm at a loss now as to anything else i can try - I thought this kit would avoid all this hassle!!!! As I'm in the uk, sending them back would be difficult and I've had them quite a long time anyway now.
i had the same problem. you probably got an older set of latches. they had a manufacturing problem and have since corrected it. call or email trique and they will send you out the new and improved latches. i spoke to a guy by the name of chris turner. great customer service, shipped right out.
