V code springs

Hi,

Are these leaf springs still available? Front V code springs: Part #2C3Z-5310-HA
On a few sites, the part number comes up as a coil spring. On another site it says they are replaced by X code springs.

Thanks

Tony

Ford Parts Giant lists it as a spring.

They changed it to "LA" on a ford dealer site from "HA", which they listed as a coil spring.

Just curious, big picture what are you trying to accomplish by changing your spying rate ?

Your 7.3 D codes have a 380 lbs per inch spring rate

the V v code has s 430 lbs per inch spring rate.

if you are trying to improve handling then clearly the big heavy brick, aka excursion suffers from to much understeer pretty much what you expect from from huge, heavy straight axle brick that doesnt want to turn.

*to decrease understeer:
*decrease front spring rate. ( duh )
*decrease front sway bar rate.
*Raise front tire psi ( by a few pounds each test session )
* lowerrear tire psi. ( again by a few psi )
* more positive caster ( my personal favorite. I like +5* to +6* As another benefit will improve you straight line tracking and certainly return to center.

if your goal is ride quality then focus on shocks. i would need more vehicle details to make suggestions in those.

Pirate4x4,

I'm trying to improve the handling a bit, but also improve the lateral flex that happens when going over uneven roads.
Several times when driving the truck home after I bought it, we would hit a bad patch of pavement and it felt like the back
of the truck was going to come out from under us. Scared my wife a few times. The truck does have 103k so Im sure the shocks
could use a refresh as well.

Several people have commented about how well the v/b spring changed helped there truck. My plan was to do V front, unmodified B rear,
new Bilsteins all around, and a Hellwig sway bar. Plus the 1.5"-2" lift would be good.

The X is going to be our traveling/camping rig. Right now we are tent camping but a camper may be in our future so better towing would help.
Don't see any extreme overlanding in our future.
It's a 3/4 ton chassis, so it's going to ride like a truck, but a bit better ride quality would be nice.
