So after going up to 315/70/17 I do actually have a little rubbing on the passenger side when making a full lock turn to the left, the front side of the passenger front tire will rub the leaf spring a little. Wondering what the consensus is on really thin wheel spacers, like 1/4" ? I think a 1/4" would do it. I've seen for the thicker ones lug centric ones are required but haven't seen anything for something like these. I have used some thin ones like this before on my tractor and while they have held up to the abuse that takes, its not an apples to apples comparison. The ones I am referencing just slip over the studs like this- https://www.summitracing.com/parts/b...oaAkGzEALw_wcB - I know these are not correct for the X but as a reference.
I am curious to see what others say- I really wanted to go to the newer F250 wheels but I also tow and half of what I read was that people ran spacers no problem- and the other half were saying if you ran them you were going to end up in a ditch when your wheel falls off- never could find a consensus so I decided to take the conservative route and just find some 18" HD wheels
Hear the same thing about lug centric vs hub centric and towing- half the people say no problem- seems like the other half say your wheel going to break
I personally took the conservative route - but plenty seem to run lug centric and spacers while towing and not have issues
