Tryn to track down a set of X code springs. Found a guy thats got 25 sets of springs, I need to know all possible codes for X springs. Also a friend has a truck with springs that have the code F81AAED on them, he says that they are x code, but I cant find that code on any of the spring lists I found using the search tab. His truck has UA on the door sticker, could they have been changed at the dealer? He bought the truck new. All these codes have me stumped, and I wanna make sure I get the right springs.
I'm chasing a handling crappy problem. I've replaced every part of the front of my truck tryn to make it drive better, even a red head box, still wonders all over the road. My wife wont drive it and it freaks me out every now & then. Its been to three shops and they all say its fine and within spec. The only thing left are springs, and I've read X codes will give the truck more stability and i need all that I can get..
There are multiple part numbers for the X codes depending on the year they were manufactured IIRC. The easiest way is to verify from the spring code from the truck they were removed from.
The aftermarket and/or SRI part number for the x-code springs are 43-818.
Have you thought maybe the tires are causing this?
my dad has the same problem. Its definitely the tires because he had a nice road tire on there then switched to a BFG A/t and its too narrow for the weight..
Find a buddy with the same truck that will let you borrow his rims n tires for a week.
