Cheaper alternative for V-B code springs?

It's time to upgrade my springs so I looked into getting a V and B code set and it's going to run me $250 and $400 each, after taxes thats almost $1500 just for springs. If I go used, which model/year did these come on and how can I identify them? Does anyone know of cheaper alternatives?

You can also just have a spring shop respring your truck for much less than those prices you quoted.

X2. I don't know why more people don't do this. A spring shop will re-arch the springs and can add more leafs for much less $$ than buying new or used Ford parts.

I actually got the rear springs on mine done for free. I swapped some stump work for the owner of the spring shop. He's also going to respring the front for me for $100 as part of the deal. Now all I have to do is find an extra $100 laying around. lol

Holy mackrel! That's ridiculous!

I think I paid right around $600 for my springs and shocks. It's been awhile and I'd have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure it was around that cost.

That's what I said except I worded it at little differently. $600 for f & r springs and shocks . Mind you I'm in Canada so parts can be quite a bit more. I might try ordering them from a dealer in the states or just go with the Procomp springs.

Just checked one of my old posts from 4 years ago. I paid about $600 for the new springs and rear blocks. I paid $1,068.98 for new springs, shocks, rear blocks, and Helwig rear sway bar.

According to Procomps info they will fit and give you a 2" lift.

If I can find something used, which years and models used the V-B springs?

You're looking for '99-'04 F250 4WD springs. It'll give you the option of what spring code when you follow the prompts.
