Which coolant filter kit?
Hey guys,
I decided to go ahead switch to an ELC coolant and put a coolant filter on my 2002 7.3. Ive read a few negative reviews about the dieselsite kit, and many of the others seem expensive, probably just paying for the name. I found a couple that are seemingly a steal, so i am curious if anyone has used these kits. I can't find any reviews on them which worries me.

Those are 100% Chinese made kits. Also sold on ebay, the hoses are not even rated and the filter contains an unknown SCA which you cannot use with ELC. You are better off with a Wix filter base 4019 and a plain non charged filter 4070.

I'm guessing those negative review about the dieselsite filter kits are from people that were to inept to get them installed properly. The diesel site filter kits are good quality stuff , not saying they're not also other good quality filter kits out there too, but there are always those that'll bitch about any little thing, even its it their own fault. and then leave a negative review.
But if the price of the dieselsite kit ,or the Karen reviews, have you looking elsewhere, Rudy's has a universal kits for like $70 (although they do say "please call for availability" now "), see link below. I've used it a couple times on engine conversion trucks where there wasn't a direct off-the-shelf kit, its pretty dang good too, especially for the price.
