Sounds like you got a pretty good truck. I got a leak in one of the tires on our Dodge truck, I am tired of having tire problems this year. I sold the old motorhome tires to some trucker. I got a little cash and the best part is I don't have to haul them off. I was a little afraid to go to work on Monday. Anytime I leave for a day or two things seem to get really messed up. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting other than we are really behind on fixing stuff but catching up slowly. The new mechanic is going to a great asset to the shop.Come to find out he went to the AG school is south Georgia and can work on everything.

Glad things were not to fat out at work.

Been to wet and humid to prime anything on the ford, and weld for that matter. Tomorrrow night and this weekend though I may pull some all nighters. Ill have my ford, 2 personal vehicles for maintenance, fiances hemi, and maybe a customers subaru for engine Rebuild, and a couple estimates to write and maybe 2 side jobs if estiminates get approved.
Bought the eastwood SCT contour tool to help stripping my ford and got some blast media... Cab fenders and core support should be damn near ready for epoxy and primer and/or chassis coating
took the night off. Opened the windows in the house. Fiance aint here. gunna have some beers, figured Id update my profile here. Piddle paddle around the house tonight instead of wrenching. Got a machine just whooped my *** like i was in a bar fight today
Yesterday was not my day. On the way to work I hit a deer in the Envoy, it didn't do much damage. All I had to do is bend a bracket back into place that holds the bumper cover on. Went to go home and the gear shifter wouldn't work. I took the cable off at the transmission and got it into gear and drove it home. Something is going on with the shifter inside, the only good thing it's a floor shifter. I will pull it apart and find out what's going on.
It was a hell of a week for us. We were very backlogged on mowers when I came in on Monday, we are almost caught up now. Still behind on tractors but that will be the focus next week. Boss got in a huge scrap metal dumpster and I did a good clean up in and around the shop. The new mechanic is fantastic, very hard worker, very laid back and no kiddie games or drama. Going in this morning just to deliver a mower, good customer but very aggravating. Then going to see what's up with the gear shifter on the GMC. Wife promised to take little man to the pumpkin patch down the road so we are doing that this afternoon.

Found the problem with the shifter in the Envoy, a plastic locking ring broke on the shifter cable end. They have a $15 dollar bushing kit that i'll pick up at Advance and it will be fixed. Still don't know why the front tire started leaking on the Dodge yet. I'll look at it when we get back from the pumpkin patch.
Today was work on the property day. I got a ton done that I was behind on. Weedeating, mowing, worked on the driveway some. Battery in the motorcycle is dead, tried charging it and it's totally dead. I fixed the tires on the dodge, the rear was a valve core and the front had a small hole. Replaced the valve core and a tire plug and we were back in business. It needs new tires but I am trying to hold off till spring. I got the bushing for the Envoy but going to do that tomorrow after work. I ran out of daylight.
Our daughter said the left rear rim on the Mercedes was cracked, I pulled it into the shop today at lunch and found the tire was bad, not the rim. So $165.00 for a tire and mounting on Wednesday and it will at 100% again. I am so glad it didn't turn out to be the rim. Going to pt the bushing on the Envoy when I get home.
I'm glad u was able to get some chores caught up around the house. I still have gutters to clean. I need to put that screen over them I guess. I went to the doctor today and didn't know if my truck was going to fit in the parking garage. When I saw 6' 9" I was like OH NO. Truck has 33x12.50r18 tires. I saw the antena was about 4" taller than the bar. I slowly eased up until I didn't hear any metal scrap. I went in but even small cars were taking up 2 parking spots they were so tight. I like to never found a spot and when I did I like to never have got my truck in it. I cussed that concrete pillar on the passenger side thinking I was about to hit it.
Once in there straight my driver door couldn't open about 8" it was so tight. Then I was glad the concrete pillar was there as I had plenty of room on the passenger side to open the door wide open.
I got out and smelled that one of the brakes was hot. I noticed it was pulling to the left on the way up there but I figured I had messed up from adjusting the tire pressure in the front a few days back, So my truck hasn't moved in 5 days and it rained for 2 of them days. So while in chattanooga I pressed really hard and it feels like I have air in the lines. On the way back it was the passenger side brake sticking. I saw when I bought it the front calipers looked new. So whom ever owned it before may have had problems before. I thought I would use the parking break to stop rolling in my yard and pressed it to the floor and nothing happened. So now I know something is up.
Sorry to hear you are having problems with the new truck.
Yesterday we got one of the two big jobs we had in the shop finished and back to the customer. We start our winter hours this Saturday, we usually change hours when the time changes but I'm not complaining. My stress level is much lower now that the 2 child acting guys we had are gone, my boss even noticed how much better the work environment is.
Went ahead and ordered new upper and lower front control arms for the Benz. They seem to be a common problem of wearing out on these cars, I think the strange front vibration is coming from them just being worn out. With the new rear tire, ballance all 4 tires and the new front control arms it should ride a lot better. I am loving the 25 miles to the gallon.
Well luckily I bought the truck cheap enough I afford to make a few repairs if needed. It had been in 1 accident an from the looks of the front bumper it was a small fender bender. I'm still wondering what is up with the rpm gauge. It seems to be Idleing below the 0 mark. At 55mph at around 800 rpm. 70 around 1200 rpm. It has 3.73 gears so I know the rpms must be higher. Ofcourse I saw this before I bought it and really not an issue. I can always make a guess. I figure the gauge is reading at lbetween 500 -1000 rpms less than actual.
I even ran across a good front bumper the other day. I probably should have bought it. was cheap enough. I'm kinda wanting to put a winch on my truck. I'm looking at the rope winches hard. I'm tired of needing leather gloves with steel cable. Not to mention if someone else rolls all cable up on one side till it jams. Been a few times I wanted to just cut the cable. I'm also fixing to replace some more bulbs with LED. Some one has already replaced all of them but the blinker lights and probably the tail lights.
I'm glad to hear your stress level is coming down. Some times we seem to have more on our plate than we can handle. But we seem to always manage to get through. Not enough hours in the day is what I used to say lol. I hope that fixes your strange vibration. Love to hear your getting good gas millage. The best this truck has given me is 18 so far with the brakes sticking. Maybe once my brakes not holding it back it will do better.
I think it was holding back a little before I bought it. I just thought it was the big tires as I was on level ground. I was intending on changing the brake fluid anyways. It has a 130k miles on it so I intend on changing all the fluids soon. I changed the oil already. I'm a lot slower at getting work done than I used to be. Age has caught up to me. And health isn't what it used to be. But I do what I can when I can. And that all anyone can expect from a person.
I can still wrench, it just takes me a little longer to do the job and a lot longer to heal after i'm done. I pulled the transmission/ transfer case in an all wheel drive Escalade we owned a few months back. I pulled it out, installed a new rear main seal and reinstalled. It took me 3 days start to finish by myself. Took me 4 more days to not be sore!
