Decided to head back home tomorrow morning. Stopped by the office and they gave us a voucher for a free night instead of a refund. I will take my time getting home, I’d rather be safe than sorry. If I was real smart we would have left this morning. I get my whole 2 week vacation time in January so we can come down for a long weekend sometime in the spring.

Looks like Sally is going to hit Mobile. We should get some wind (around 20) tomorrow. The rain started today. Be safe

last night we had 3 tornado warning and flash flood warnings all night, didn’t get much sleep. I was hoping we had not made a bad mistake in staying another day.

We had a 30 minute window this morning between rain bands and we beat feet out of town. Wife followed me in the Hummer till we got to I-10 and then I towed it the rest of the way home. It was a little crazy with the wind and rain for a majority of the ride home. Around Columbus the wind slacked up some and I could finally go faster then 50mph. So glad to be home.

2 years ago we went and there was red tide, this time a hurricane. I told the wife no more trips to Panama City!!

Yeah this time of the year I would camp at Tybee island. Still have to keep an eye on the storms but the gulf seems to have more storms this time of year. You should go to Destin FL if you haven't been. The water and sand is beautiful. I have noticed that the moon phase has a lot to do with the clarity of the water. Seems like during good weather, half moon phase was nice calm seas with no rip tides which contributes to clarity of the water.
Yeah owning a camper is a chore to keep up. Rodents like to chew wires so that is always an issue. I put rat poison in mine every year and still have problems with mice. One year I had a nest in the squirl fan of the over head AC unit. I had to take it apart and clean it out. I usually set off some bug bombs about a week before I aim to use it.

We fight ants more than anything else. We were down Orange City first of August. At place called Luna Sands they named that place right. We had hard rain almost every day. Got to spend a few hours at Canaveral National Seashore. Got back to camper just finished cooking steaks and the rain set in. We were going to New Symera Raceway got late model qual in and rain came again

If it wasn't for my late mom's celebration of life on Sunday we would have delayed our vacation, probably would have started this Saturday. With little man starting school next year we will be at the mercy of the school system from now on. A little disappointing but I am knocking some stuff out around the house that we have delayed on doing. I laid new carpet in our bedroom yesterday and I am going to paint our side porch today. I need to figure out what I need to build a fenced in area for my wife's Emu. The wife also wants to paint the baseboards in the kitchen and the dining room.

We did some inside stuff yesterday plus a dump run. We finished the whitewash stain on the live edge on one dining room wall and started taping all the old trailer wall seams. Today we are going to look at an Armada up in Stockbridge then work on the front yard. We bounce back and forth depending on the weather.

. i learned a trick on keeping ants out. I spray all parts of the camper touching the ground with a can of Raid.

We keep ant spray on hand. I think we live on top of an ant hill.

We have ants in the yard but not in the motorhome.
Managed to get both the Caddy and the Hummer detailed this morning. The Hummer was full of beach sand and the outside had some salt like film all over the outside. Made a run to Tractor supply and to Home Depot to get the fencing supplies we needed. Also went to Harbor Freight and bought a gas powered post hole digger. We got a real good start but not as far along as I was hoping for. Now that we have everything we need we should be able to finish up tomorrow.

It took Debra 2 days to get the sand out of the camper and we did not camp at the beach. We went car researching yesterday instead of working. Debra drove yesterday the first time in over 5 years. We drove an 06 Nissan Armada, she liked the way it drove and she was comfortable driving it. That one we felt was too high So she told me to stop researching. When we get ready to buy it will be either and Armada or an Infinity QX56. They are both built off the Titan Chassis.

We are about 95% done, it won't take us very long tomorrow. Letting the cement dry around the fence posts tonight and then back at it again tomorrow morning. We moved and completely re-configured all the chicken and turkey pens and made it a ton easier for the wife to feed and water up now. Then we started to build the new Emu run, it will enjoy the big open area it can run around in when we get done. The post hole digger we bought at harbor freight is a pretty stout little machine. It made short work of digging the holes since the clay deep down was still pretty hard. We were glad it was overcast all day with a slight breeze, made it a lot more enjoyable working outside.

It took us about 4 hours to finish the Emu fence today, I think the wife was more excited the bird was. After that I did some yard cleaning and I mowed the horse pasture. It really needed it bad. A new mechanic starts tomorrow, we moved one in from another store instead of hiring one. They were over one guy and I was short one guy and he has been begging to move to our store for a while. I am almost afraid to see how far behind we are on stuff at work. I saw a bunch of new equipment sitting outside that I will have to add to inventory. I have a feeling this week is going to be wide open.

Good to hear you got all that accoplished. I just went and had the oil changed on the 2012 F150 3.5L eco beast I bought. $45 and all the fluids checked and grease points greased is about as much as I spend on oil and a filter. The car dealer claimed it just had an oil change and the cpu said 90% oil life. I checked the oil and it wasn't black but it was a little darker than I like. So I changed it to be on the safe side.
Went for a ride in it yesterday. Rode over on Taylor's ridge. It performs really well. I ran it in 4h and 4L while off road Just mainly to get everything to turning and lubrucation to warm up. I have a squeak in the suspension somewhere when it flexes hard, which is not often. The only concerning thing I heard was while in 4L and going around a tree in the road I heard a loud pop in the front end as my left tire started up the bank. I'm hoping it wasn't nothing. This truck looks like it has never been off the pavement. The Mud tires look to have about 25% tread left on them. The mud tires was put on it last year according to the reciept in the dash where the last person kept records of maintainance. I also discovered a 10,000 mile gap in the last oil change records. I saw where in June the PCM was reprogramed by the ford place. I also saw in August where some shop did something to the truck, (maybe oil change) but all it said was maintenance. And if it was an oil change that would be 10,000 miles on the oil.
First turbo I have ever had. I have read that the 2012 turbos go out quicker than the 2013 due to bearing failure. I hear the bearings or chain for about 15 seconds or so on startup. I'm wondering if mine has the ceramic bearings that failed a lot or the steel bearings. Either way I hear these engines don't like to be lugged. No problem with that as it has the 3.73 gears for max towing and power, I romp on it at least a couple of times, when I jump on the highway and let her get to 55 mph quick. I even romped on it in 4L while off road. I get an average of 13 mpg lol.
I've been doing my research on tires and during that research I found that the month of October and the month of April is when one can get the best deals on tires. I'm going to go with a good all terrain. I don't need mudders for most of the places I go. Plus the road noise is less with an all terrain. Not to meantion that AT tires generally last twice as long.
But I've been having fun with it. I have to get used to these tow mirrors thou. I've already rubbed the passenger side mirror against a couple of things lol. No harm done just scratch the plastic a little. It was scratched some when I bought it, so I know I'm not the only one that got to close to the gate post.
