I am new to this while restoring classic cars thing and I could use some of your help. I am looking to get my interior
Floor Pans all clean again but and having a hard time with taking this crusty gunk off without scratching the paint. I know you never see the floor anyway but I would like to hear anyone's thoughts on how I can tackle this. I attached a picture below. Take a look and let me know what you think. I am currently working on a 1976 F150, although that doesn't matter, just thought I'd throw that out there.
Put on a dust mask, and hit it with a wire brush/wheel. Hopefully non of the spots are rusted through. Have a shop vac handy. Your gonna have to take the rusty spots down to bare metal anyway. After it's clean of rust, wipe down with a damp rag, then acetone or brake cleaner and repaint/rust prevent.

Thanks! I'll give that a go when I get some more time. The floor pans underneath have no rust and it appears nothing has gone through so I'm hoping it's just surface rust. Truck was from Oregan so it's pretty clean, except for these floor pans.
