I am eyeballing that. But that can be accessed alot easier then the up pipes down the road. I do intend to take a closer look at the turbo and clean it up tomorrow.
The billet plenuns would be nice. But id be tossing out a bunch of brand new parts I just installed. Plus I don't know what boots would fit. Maybe down the line after the tuber and injectors issue
The 7/8" plug i got didnt want to work. Started to deform. I think it was a touch too big. Thought it was gonna work at first but my socket got stuck, once I pulled the socket out the plug was just loose. Im using it as a cap currently to keep debris out as i pull the plenums and clean
Bout to finish working on the truck for the day. I got both plenums off and ready to reseal. Forgot to bring a caulk gun so ill have to wait till the morning to install them.
I started on the wiring, the plastic conduit is just crumbling. Gonna wait till the plenuns are not gaping open. Waiting to eat all the debris.
The up pipes bolts are going to be a huge pain. The proper size seems to 9.5mm or 19/64", neither are sizes I have available. The bottoms are cutable, the top isn't however. I don't know iff ill be able to pull the pedestal with the up pipes still attached up and out.
Still haven't got a freeze plug to fit. Only one place actually stocks them and it was too big i think. Tried a rubber one, be nice if it fit, but nope.
Turbo cleaning is going, but the turbine housing seems fused to the center. Gonna try and get that off too.
I think my freeze plug was an OE Ford part in Mark's kit. Sounds like Sawzall time for you... Milwaukee The Torch blades kickass.
Order that billet comp wheel, you know you wanna...
I do want to. Well see once everything else falls into place and is ready to be put back together.
I went back up and revealed the plenums. Didnt seem too hard, so i mustve Fd something up. I even tightened that one bolt back down just in case. Yall know which one. Same guy that designed the banjo bolt on the pump did the plenum bolts.
Looks like you are still making progress despite the turbo issue. I feel ya on wanting to buy more parts. My funding stream vs my wants usually runs a deficit.
Did you have the socket on the inside of the plug when you drove it in? If so, that may be the cause of your problem. I pushed mine in by hand, then placed a small block on it that covers the rim of the plug and drove it the rest of the way with a hammer. You can probably do it without the block, I just didn’t want to distort the upper edge of the plug wall
Yes i did have socket inside. Used an old inpact socket, but see what you mean now. Might grab another one and give it a try like that.
Turbine housing is still super stuck. Gonna be a few days before my up pipes show up anyways i think since diesel site hasn't replied or sent shipping info. So itll be into next week
Got a Drexel to cut one of the lower up pipe bolts. Gonna grab the sawzall for the others. Angles wrong for the lil dremel.
I rechecked my notes and 7/8 is what I used. If driving in with socket get one that fits inside the freeze plug some what loose. This worked for me. Good luck.

Yeah the one i used was super snug. Didnt think about it closing in on the socket.
Got 3 of the 4 upper up pipe bolts. 4th is gonna require another set of hands. Have to fish the extension in from the bottom, but im blindbin the drivers side with the slave cylinder right there in the way.
