amps/help

ok i need some help, what does 4 channel amp mean .and how about 2 ohm what is the difference from a 2 ohm 4 or 8

A four channel amp can amplify four distinct channels (LF, RF, LR, RR). Ohms are a measurement of resistance. The lower the number, the better. If you run two two-ohms speakers in series, the result is a four ohm resistance on the line. If you run two four-ohm speakers in parallel, the result is a two ohm resistance on the line. The trick is to match the resistance of the speaker configuration with the handling of the amps. Too high ohms, and the amp will push too hard and overheat. Too little ohms, and you will underpower the speakers and blow them up.

you got that wrong. if the ohms go the low then the amp will over heat and cut off. too high and there will be a lot less power to the speakers. just helping.
