So I was doing research about the water/ fuel separator causing problems with either leaking or allowing water in the system. I found out that Napa part #4309 is a direct bolt up and Napa part # 3123 is the filter. My question is if I throw the original one out, replace it with this.. what would I do with the 3 prong plug? Would my water in fuel light still work? If not, what can I do to get the water in fuel light to work as intended?
with that combination you will not have plugged filter indication, you will not have fuel heater, and you will not have water in Fuel indication. also you will not have the bleed ports for Priming.

ok I’m definitely not gonna do that.. Thank you for your input.
have you ever taken the stock one apart and rebuilt it?
throwing away the original head is just for folks with more money than sense.... it is a good Idea to add an additional Raycor like the 25 dollar ones from China... they use OEM filter elements too and they hold up just as well as the 300 dollar units using the same filter ... 20 micron is good on the Raycor then you can go as low as a 2 micron on the WIX filter

Yes and with that method the engine filter becomes the secondary and the raccor filter can be the primary. I have used enough of the clones to say they work just fine.

so you’re recommending to keep the stock water/ fuel separator connected and just buying a Wix filter to use on the OEM fuel filter housing?
