Hi everyone I am swapping a dt360 into my 93 f-350 with the 7.3idi. I have been researching adapters to go from the dt to my zf5, I’ve only seen literally one adapter plate for this I was just wondering if anyone knew of any others I could consider instead of buying it all from Carson Stauffer. Thx
If you're 2wd I would just go with a whole different transmission, like an Eaton 6 speed, heavier/beefier and still shifts just like a pickup. Has the shift pattern of a zf6
If you're 4wd it gets more complicated.
Sorry I can't answer your original question, just thought I'd throw in my .02 that you don't have to keep the zf5
Yea, thinking if youre going through the effort to swap a 360 in there, youre going to want a transmission that isnt going to **** the bed in short order.
I want something with overdrive so I can do highway speed so i would need a 7 speed at the least but then I need a divorced transfer case and possibly have to modify the transmission tunnel and that would be cool but I don’t know if it’s super practical.
You already have to modify the trans tunnel and completely cut the firewall to the dash so the rest should be easy. I remember seeing a DT446 swap attempted and he had to do a doghouse into the cab to cover the engine and it wasn't pretty.

the amount of gears in the trans does not guarantee overdrive.
i have seen plenty of 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 18, and 20 speed transmissions that were all direct drive in top gear.

Very true, and then on the other hand, you could "X" a couple of gears, main shaft and countershaft, on certain 5 speeds and in doing so made 5th gear an overdrive.
