2002 V10-4WD Excursion. Around town the A/C seems to be fine. When I hit the highway it's fine until I exceed around 60 mph. Once it gets over 60 mph the airflow moves to defrost only. The weirdness occurs if I get within approximately 50 yards of (or overtake and pass) another vehicle. As I get close to, or pass, the other vehicle the vent function returns to normal briefly. After I pass and am in the "open" again the airflow goes back to defrost only.
I've looked through posts here and also searched You Tube for answers but nothing seems to match my conditions. Maybe it's the result of multiple component failures? Suggestions?
Well that seems to have worked. Must be a seal leak in one or both front hub assemblies.
Thanks!
Nope. The hubs only have vacuum applied during switching. It's probably the actuator valve or the line going to it. Most of the time, the valve's plastic body develops cracks causing the leak.
