Meaning brake fluid....
I think I've been using valvoline DOT 4 which might be a fancier DOT 3, don't quite remember, but it works fine in the clutch and brakes.

I’d use dot 4 but like you said I also heard you shouldn’t mix the two and don’t feel like draining the whole system. I’m gonna just flush the reservoirs a couple times and just replace with the amount of dot3 that came out
