I have a Weigh Safe 2" in a truck with a 2" receiver that look like the one above with a groove worn into it. Never pulled more than 3k. I am going to order a B&W for my F350.
The Fastway 2.5 is rated for 20,000 and 2,000 tongue. Around the same price as others that are 15,000/1,500. Not that its needed with the 2.5 hitch but just a little extra strength.
Not wanting to start a new thread, so here goes. Just bought a new F-35 that has the 3” receiver. Thinking to just go ahead and get the right hitch right off the bat that will do all I ever need.
I like the B&W hitches, thinking the three ball version. Any reason not to go with the 7” drop version (they also have a 4” drive p version)?
I ordered the 4" for my 2020 F350 CC SB 6.7. Should be here tomorrow. Based on measurements I took, I don't see a need for a 7" drop other than to get in the way. I should know more tomorrow night. My measurements, the hitch height is an inch taller than my '18 Tundra. With that I used a straight triple ball and it worked perfect for my two dual axle trailers.

Depends on your trailers, really. One of my frequent trailers is a pretty low 16’ cargo trailer owned by the Boy Scout troop and it needs a fair amount of drop on my ‘17 DRW to tow level. Then there’s my TT that needs 6” of rise

I have the B&W Tow and Stow 3 ball. I have a few pretty low trailer that I pull so I went with the 7" Drop. Attached is a picture of it folded in for reference. I love that the ball tucks under so my shins don't find it walking around my truck.
Can I just add onto this thread? I have a 2021 F250 CC 6.7.. When I measure the outside width of my receiver it's 3". When I went to purchase a reducer/adapter I first got a 3" to 2.5 to 2. Found out that didn't fit. Went back and got the 2.5 to 2 and it worked fine. So when measuring receivers do you measure the outside or inside dimensions? Also wondering did I get the correct receiver on my truck? I ordered the F-250 Trailer Tow High Capacity with Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System and Pro Trailer Backup Assist Package. It says it includes • F-250 Trailer Tow Package – High Capacity.. and — Increase GCWR on diesel engine from 23,500 lbs. to 30,300 lbs. . Looking at ball mounts it seems the 2.5 shank mounts are good for 18.5K. The 3" shanks are good for 21k.. I don't have any current plans to tow that much BUT want to make sure I got what was suppose to be on my truck just in case I ever do. Thanks...
It is the outside of the stinger (inside of the receiver). If your truck came with a 2.5in receiver, then it should have come with the 2.5 x 2 reducer from the factory (usually under back seat). If you didn’t get, then go back to dealer and get.

If the truck was ordered with HCTP it would have a 3" hitch not a 2.5 along with other upgrades as it would be equipped with the same rear axle and rear spring set as the F350.
