My 2020 F350 with the 7.3 has the 2.5" receiver, you sure yours is 3"? Gassers all got the 2.5", 3" was diesel and f250 with tow package. Did you upgrade the hitch somehow to get a 3"? Ford provides the 3" to 2.5" adapter, but they don't provide the 2.5-2"
You are correct, it is a 2.5", I just went and measured it. When I was talking to the salesman on the phone a few days back, he said it was 3", and I just took his word for it!

Good deal. I have been looking for a 2.5" shank to put my WDH head onto, and they are sold out everywhere. Everyone is camping and covid closures, so I will have to use an adapter for my first trip. Hope I can get a shank soon to avoid the adapter issues for the future. Congrats on the new truck!

My diesel came with the 3", 2.5" adapter, and 21k# pin. I picked up a 2" adapter just in case I need it but typically use a 3" B&W ball mount. From what I've read manufacturers say not to use 2 adapters at once but I don't see why not... it's just steel taking up space. If you don't overload the ball mount then I don't see a problem.

There was actually a post not to long ago about someone bending hitch pins. They were running a 2.5 and 2" adapter in a 3 inch hitch. With the adapters able to slide freely all of the force wasn't focused at the edges of the 3" tube.
It was also causing the hitch pins holes to oval out.

I could see that being an issue. My plan would be to only ever use 2 adapters if I needed to borrow a specific 2" ball mount. And then keep the weight down, for sure.

That would be me that was bending pins... I haven't had any issues since I've been using my 3" Tow N Stow.
Still haven't hooked up my Anderson WDH to my new trailer yet, but once I do I'll update the other post.
My F350, 7.3L CC LB SRW came with a 2.5"...I dont think the 2020's came with a adaptor / sleeve as did previous years. I originally thought mine was a 3" visually but putting a tape to it confirmed it was a 2.5
