Was heading to shop to purchase a new EGR valve after EGR code.. upon accelerating onto highway engine lost power and died. Pulled over cranked several times and restarted. Nursed it home, placed EGR went to clear code and saw the 2614 and 2617 codes on. Erased codes, started engine but still running rough. Any suggestions?
Sensor checked ok.. erased codes and replaced fuel pump.. truck still stalling and running rough but no check engine light.. getting frustrated.. any recommendations appreciated..
I have no idea which engine you have. Care to share some details?
So you checked the camshaft position sensor and it was ok. How did you test it? I'm assuming this engine has variable valve timing, so usually the camshaft phaser/solenoid is the point of failure OR low oil/low oil pressure due to neglected service intervals since the phasers work off of oil pressure.
An engine will run like garbage if the camshaft is stuck in a full retard position due to phaser failure.
