My guess is that the EGR valve has some carbon buildup, and maybe there's a problem with the intake or TB. This is my dad's truck and I finally got him to get the codes scanned, because I knew there was something wrong with it. What do all these mean?
is the truck pinging running rough stalling?
check in the Technical Information posting if its a '94 it should be under the "more EEC-IV codes" link
youre on the right track with the egr carbon, id also search this forum for the DPFE its the little aluminum box that controls egr function, i guess its a common problem
