ok so my truck i just scored is a 70 f100 was told its a 302...
Hahah..its actually a 351 with small cam and race holly 4412 carb....she flexes the truck.so.hard...but here's my issue...it still has the t170 srod 4 speed trans...cant handle this setup
Please Point.me.in the right direction for a trans that can handle the motor...will also need info on drive shaft and rear-end..im assumimg.it can't handle it either
If you are going to go cheap, go with a C6. They will take a lot more than the old manuals, and be easier on the rear axle. Get some traction bars to keep the axle from wrapping up. That will break things quickly--u-joints for one.

RUG SR-OD introduced in 1978 F100/150 with 300/302, used thru 1983.
1965/72 F100/250 2WD would have the optional Warner T-18 4 speed without overdrive. Reverse is up-towards the dash.
No truck came with a 351M until 1977, no truck came with a 351W until 1981. 1970/74 351C was not installed in trucks.
I guess you're right-everything I've looked at thinking you were wrong has proven you are in fact correct. I guess I've seen enough swapped in windsors to assume they were factory.

We don't gloat, but we know a thing or two around these parts.....
People's biggest problem seems to be taking offense to facts that aren't on their side. But facts are facts and don't care about feelings. Haha
I would go with a ZF. They're behind plenty of 351s. They have an OD and a granny gear. You'll have to switch to a hydraulic clutch which means mounting the reservoir and engineering linkage to the clutch pedal
