Rusty 390 crank

wondering if this crank is worth hanging onto. I have a set of used rods and nos 030 trw pistons saved for my next rebuild. Rods are lightly rusted pistons are dusty like their degrading.

Looks like it would clean up .010 under. Other stuff should clean up as well.

Agreed... as long as the crank hasn't already been cut to .060 - LOL

Very interesting lines on those journals... was it "preserved" with some sort of coating? Very uniform...

thanks for the help. I have only sprayed wd40 on it. Is there a better preservative for the short term?

Nah, as much as I despise WD40 as a penetrating oil, it's pretty good at preserving stuff. Shpray it down, let it sit.

If I were you, I would take it to a shop and have them clean it up and mic it to see what it would clean up to. Before putting a lot of money into this crank, I would have them magnaflux it for cracks.
You want to make sure it is sound.
