2012 Escape steering and stalling
Ive been a member quite a while and I went into forums and pulled a topic search here in the ESCAPE forum for what we just had happen. I dont know much about these Escapes other than...Id never personally own one. Anyway onto the topic...
My daughter in law called me saying she was stuck...the Escape's steering had become so stiff she barely got it into my son's work parking lot. I know this model has that screwy EPAS column collar crap...just goofy if you ask me. So I met her, pulled the 80amp Midi fuse and tested it...good. Reinstalled it, reconnected bat neg and then checked the cables under the dash....the main power harness did not feel completely seated so I unplugged it and reinserted it and started the vehicle...steering is fine or at least back to "normal."
My son got home from work last night and told me that now the car is stalling at stops and has surging throttle like when he was sitting in the drive thru.
Im just looking to get opinions on a possible cause like the IACV, throttle body, or simplify the equation by saying it just needs to relearn after having hte battery disco'd.....opinions???
Thanks in advance!!!!
