I am installing Altman latches so I need a remote entry unit and actuators. I am leaning on the Dakota Digital control unit but was curious what size (pounds of pull/push) I need in an actuator. They seems to vary from a few pounds to about 12 pounds for door locks and even higher of course for door poppers. Some actuators are electric solenoids while others are gear motors. Preference?

I purchased my door poppers from AVS. The kit is an 8 channel kit and I purchased the electric window controller from them as well. Door poppers work well with the Altman Latches. Haven't installed the controllers yet.
Hope this helps

Dan, I was planning to only use the actuator for the door locks as I have the original outside/inside door handles so door poppers are a bit of overkill for the Altman locks which move very easily. I'm thinking a 10# pull/push is more than enough but I have no experience to know if my theory holds true.
By the way, do you remember where you found those wafer head metric screws? I have one just barely touching the primered door jamb. By the time I add the basecoat/clearcoat finish paint I'm sure I will have a problem. I did find some standard 1/4-20x3/4 SS wafer head screws at Fastenal but the head is about 3/4" in diameter. I'll use a M6-1.0x16mm metric wafer head if I can find them. I did not see them at McMasters.
I believe I bought the metric wafer head screws off of ebay. They were low cost. I just bought 6-1/4-20 ss wafer head machine screws for the latches at McMaster-carr. Haven't received them yet (Expensive).
I forgot to tell you that McMaster-Carr calls the bolts ultra-low profile stainless steel bolts. I haven't received them yet but they should work.
Take care
