Heavier than I thought

2020 F-350 Diesel CC 4x4 short bed. Lariat with all options other than chrome package and 5th wheel prep.

7830#

3/4 tank of fuel and 1/2 tank of Def. B&W turnover hitch and a few items under the back seat....

I subtracted the 3 passengers on board out. Leaves me with a little over 3600# cargo capacity.

these are some heavy trucks!

That is part of what makes them good towing rigs.

Go heavy or don't go.

Sounds about right. The official Ford curb weight for your truck configuration in base trim with no options is 7486 lbs.

Your truck’s official payload spec (passengers and cargo) should be stated on the Tire and Load Label on the driver side B pillar.

totally agree! More than whatever engine these SD’s have, it is the rest of the package that makes them so solid and stable for towing

I’ll never go back to a 1/2 ton

oh, and glad I got the 350 for the extra GVWR

It would barely matter. If you recall, almost all the weight savings when Ford jumped to aluminum bodies went back into the frame. The net savings was barely 250 pounds.

aluminum switched had saved 750lbs, the added 500 was heavier running gear........

My truck with full fuel (55 gallon Titan tank...), 5th wheel hitch in, and the 3 of us was about 1000# more. I was heading towards 9k before hooking up.

Took my 2020 F350 XLT Crew DRW 4x4 7.3 from the show room floor to the gas station filled it up then to the certified scale.
# 7800 empty
# 4300 front
# 3500 rear
a little suspicious of the even numbers but it was a certified scale. I think there's plus or minus #20.

My 2020 F350 7.3 SCLB SRW outfitted for hauling the truck camper came in at a lean #7980.

yep, I get round numbers on CAT scales, too.

My 2017 DRW 6.7 is a thic girl...full tank of fuel, my small low profile tool box, me and precisely 400# of stall mats in the bed.
