The bad news - looks like dropped lifters in both 6 and 7 cylinders. 588 miles and she's getting a new engine. Going to be another 3-4 weeks it looks like. Ford apparently wants a tear-down. Just another day in paradise.
Damn! 6.7 or 7.3?

7.3L - Got very poor mileage right out of the gate - it seemed to improve after a couple of hundred miles - then at about 575 miles, you could feel it surge at idle / stop lights. Then in threw check engine...

Ford authorized replacement yesterday and supposedly it shipped via truck today. I seriously don't understand why they couldn't overnight it with FedEx

Lol...... I’m sure with the weight of the engine and overnight shipping, one will be looking at close to $1K or a little over.

Who the heck works on an engine in dress clothes and cufflinks? I didn't know cufflinks were still a thing. I thought those went out in the 90's?

I'm guessing a service manager who secretly wishes he was a tech

Yah I hear you on the hammer. I don't care - it's warrantied You should have seen the look on my wife's face when I brought it home... and then immediately got a rubber mallet... and then she saw me going back for a small hammer... and then she saw me go back with the ball-peen...

I've had 4 vehicles with Box-Link - and 2 of the vehicles, the anchors slid right on. This particular truck i literally had to beat them into submission - AFTER I took a razor knife to them and trimmed out some of the excess casting. She finally asked me "hammers? why?" I said "don't ask if you don't want the answer." lol

I also beat 2/4 Box-Links in with a hammer. My neighbor happened to walk out during this amazing display of determination on my part. He just laughed at me.. he’s seen me do worse lol
