460 lower intake bolt question

I have finally cleaned up my New/Old lower intake and ready to install it. I am reusing my old bolts after wire brushing them since they are in great shape.. Ford put some kind of red sealant on something similar on the threads. Reading up on what to use is like asking what is the best oil to use. Many opinions.

As I understand I should either use copper anti-seize or blue loctite or nothing at all on the threads. At 93K I had no issue removing the original bolts and none were loose. I have mostly heard using nothing will give more accurate torque readings as you reach proper final torque. Some say anti-seize will alter torque readings? Since there was something on the bolts from the factory I am unsure as what to use, if anything, to prevent leaks etc. Any knowledge on this will be appreciated, Thanks Sandy

My understanding was Ford put thread sealant on intake bolts, to prevent the likelihood, of oil seepage, into intake ports. They put it on all of them to have the same torque, anti-seize will weep out over time

That is exactly what I bought and then started reading and doubting my decision. As always, thanks Sandy

Red or blue would be thread locker ( Loctite ) which is completely different than thread sealant. Only use red thread locker if you don’t want to ever take it apart. That is the high strength stuff.

I don't plan on taking it apart again and didn't this time either. But, stuff happens. So who knows if or when I might have to do it again. That was my dilemma about using the high heat red pictured above. What do you suggest I use that will work best and be able to remove later? Thanks Sandy

that is the stuff I use for thread sealant... if oil/coolant getting by the fastener threads is what you are worried about it is the right type of product. If you are worried about fasteners working loose you should use the Loctite blue.

From what I have found now this matches. The sealant is what I should use on the intake.
