Vacation tours and improvements on 6.0s
we go all the way to the top, maybe as far as the North Cape. If I want to go even higher I have to put on the Powerstroke rubber boots and learn to swim :-)
There is little industry here, mainly fishing and tourism
How long are the longest tunnels in the USA? Here in Norway there are many tunnels. The whole country is basically one big rock. Every road and path has to be blasted out of the rock. Road construction is very expensive here.
Here is a small section of one of many tunnel passages. This tunnel was about 7 miles long. (boring to look at. At the end my wife complains because I give the 6,0 the spores, but the tickets in Norway are very expensive ;-) )

Today the internet connection is too bad for many pictures. Today it threw the hose down at the turbo, despite CCV reroute. I'm taping the damn thing together.
Aftermarket crap. Does the hairspray method work?

we're heading north on the Lofoten Islands. Unfortunately we will have bad weather for the next 2-3 days, so we will continue our journey to northern Norway. The last picture is our overnight stay for today.

I'll spare you the bad-weather images of today. Tomorrow we will drive a little bit northwards and then to the east to Finland at Tromsö because the weather in the north of Norway next days will be as bad as today.
From there we will continue in southern direction to Sweden.
Today again the upper hose of the turbo has loosened itself at a slope in a 5mls long tunnel where I could not stop. But this time I heard it blowing early and drove out of the tunnel with hazard lights. I suspect that this stuff is poor Quality.

I have now cleaned everything with brake cleaner and remounted with hairspray. (CCV is rerouted). After that I drove another 4 mountain passes with up to 20psi boost pressure ( It was all I dared do.) Until now the hose connection holds.

On your boots, I hate to tell you those don't look great and the price is scary cheap. The stock setup with the groove right under the clamp works much better. I've got the latest Ford boots on mine and no blowoffs, even running 20psi+ of boost for my 8-mile (13km) hill at 6-8% grade.
The springs of the clamps from the link above are also weaker. In order to achieve a firm clamping, the stock clamps do not have to be screwed on block. The purpose of this system is to compensate the clamp. With the clamps from the link above this is not possible. They have to be screwed on the block so that they tighten up. Then the spring is useless. The edges of the clamps are sharp-edged. I will contact Accurate Diesel.
I am enjoying the photos and your commentary. It reminds me of traveling in British Columbia, Canada. We take 1 month every year and drive 5-10,000 miles in our van. We spent 3 summers traveling in the 6.0 van. Never gave me any problems on trips. I blew the CAC tube and tightened it again. Never blew after tightening.
In the US, we enjoy cheap gasoline, diesel fuel, beer, and wine. Lots of free camping all over the country.
The 6.0 is a great machine. Take good care of it and it should take you far and long.

Do you see these size trailers over in Europe very often? Looks like an American version that someone brought over? We've got these all over the desert out here in the Western US. Usually being pulled by a 3/4-ton diesel that's waaaay over payload capacity.

I hope the upper CAC hose don't crack. Here I have no chance to get spare parts.
