August 2020 Chat Thread

Another month is behind us.
Friday work was insane but we managed to pull off a record closure of work orders and delivery of equipment. Not as much service sales as last month but probibly enough to make a small profit, which was all I was really concerned about. My delivery guy was busy delivering equipment, the general manager delivered and I did too. By the end of the day I was exhausted.
Didn't get much accomplished around the house yesterday, Did a little yard work and then I drove the wife to get another bird. We went and replaced the evaporator fan on the mom in-laws refrigerator.

I installed the new coil on the daily driver and it's running much better now and no check engine light. Crawled under the motorhome and lubed the u-joints on the driveshaft and the slip joint. They were pretty dry so it had been awhile since they were done. Fixed a baggage door that would only latch on one side and installed a new kitchen faucet. I also put old english polish on all the interior wood. A few other small fixes and adjustments.

See you are busy as always. The guy came picked up the dump truck Saturday. He should be back today to get the tractor and trailer. It a timing thing. He has a septic tank business and 120 cows and a family.
Waiting to hear on mill and land. My grading contractor wants it he doing a home equity loan. The guy that bought the tractor and dump truck is interested in the small trailer if his 4 seat Ranger will fit mine was the 2 seat. Not sure if the trailer is long enough.

My sister flew in to see mom we went up to Riverdale to see them. It was a good visit.

We are going back out to Tx Sunday to look at and more than likely close on a 2-acre tract. Has water and electricity at the paved road, wooded, down the road from a lake. About 2 hours from the kids, an hour from Tyler and Canton. We had inquired about once before but when we started reading convents I got to the part that said Architectural Review Committee had to approve everything and stopped reading. I was thing Owners Association, but I called the developer and went over them. It was set up to stop the shacks and junky fences. Across the road is a 100, 10, 30-acre tracts. The house across the street is valued over 300k So we researched others, the one we thought was it had a water issue as in none and would have to use rainwater collection or have water trucked in. The system would have been 30 k plus 42 for land and 5 to 10 for septic. In talking to a loan officer that has been the #1 Va loan officer in TX for many years told me VA may not approve of it plus the house would have to appraise for enough to cover everything.

We looked at flying but the time we figured airfare, hotel, and a rental car the cost was about the same as driving. the big difference was having to wear a damn mask from the time we walked into ATL airport till we were out of the airport in Dallas and if you don't comply the remove you from the flight and ban you from ever flying with them. So we are driving an taking the camper.

You know I'm always busy
I hate moving, I would move one more time to central Florida but other than that we are staying where we are.
The last Command Sergeant Major I had in Afghanistan walked into my office today. He retired almost a year ago and is now a park ranger for one of the state parks not far from Rome. He had no idea I worked there, it was fate. We talked for a little bit and said I needed to take my son fishing where he works.

This move is going to be just clothes, personal stuff, maybe the zero-turn once chainsaw, brush cutter, and camper. The 2-acre track sold. They have another area that the plat is not final yet but he is going to try and send us information on it will have first choice one it. Should be ready in about 60 days. He told me normally they don't release information before approval but since we are out of state and had the trip planned would talk to his boss. so far every plot we look at got better than the last. It is in God's hands. He will provide the right piece. Talked to the modular home man today. There is no engineering charge to bring our plans. We have an appointment with him on the 11th to get a ballpark on cost. He may have some leads on land.

Everything is out of the front yard except the sawmill. The guy that bought the tractor and dump truck bought thee little trailer. He bought the tractor for his wife. They now have his and hers tractors. we worked out a deal to trade my shop stuff for him filling in the pool.

We did end up making a small profit last month which was nice, I will get a small bonus in my pay. I will have only have one mechanic till Thursday, one is on vacation and the other is working at another store helping them put together a cotton picker. Yesterday was almost non stop of people dropping off lawn mowers.

I was supposed to have a stress test this morning, but I forgot about the no caffeine 24 hours prior. We found the floor plan we both like. It is modular. As drawn about 170k. God has not shown us the right piece of land yet.

The joint compound came in yesterday so we can start taping seams. The new house does not have the stupid mobile home walls. We are going back out there next week and look at land and get my TX DL. Tx has a special land, home loan program for veterans.

My sister has officially lost her mind. She called up our step dad and just went nuts on him. Demanded everything that belonged to mom and was blessing him out over everything. I am going to call her today and find out what in the heck she was thinking or what is going on. I love my brother and sister but both I think are a few fries short of a happy meal sometimes.
Went to go to work yesterday and the headlights would not come in the the GMC, a $31 dollar relay and I am good to go again.
The first set of gas struts came in yesterday for the RV baggage doors.I am going to see how they work tonight and order more if they work good. Tired off the doors drooping down while trying to hook up at a campsite.
Work is still pretty steady, this time last year we were super slow.

Family can be strange. She could be going thru depression missing your mom thinking things will ease the pain. If her elevator is stuck not quit to the top that will make things worse. After I took my ex to Ft Worth she was in a mental hospital 4 times since Oct she went completely off the deep end( worse than when I was married to her). She cussed my daughter out, her mother. Now she has been MIA is June 28. Given all the circumstances I don't think she is MIA but KIA. The last cal anyone got from here she said she was in Dallas in trouble, the problem is the call came from Houston.

We are having to change church. The lead pastor fire the co-pastor based on a false accusation big mess. It new church secretary has something against him. We fully support the co-pastor. I had been having an uneasy feeling about the church since I brought Debra up here in Jan. Someone I thought was a good friend refused to be my best man because of his image. A lot of people were talking about us behind our backs. The "accepting " church was not very accepting of Debra.

On the move still have not found the right piece of land but have found the land developer. We are leaving Sat to go out there will be back Friday then leave on Monday to go to Fl to see our son and pick up the rest of her stuff. We are pretty sure he is going to move with us. There is nothing in FL for him. MY son in law could either get him on at his company or knows plenty of people in is field (video game design)

Some low lifes cut the lock on the fence this morning at work and stole a customers trailer with their Kubota zero turn on it. They were in and out in less than 5 minutes. It made for an interesting morning at work.

Last time we were in Canton. My generator was stolen out of the back of the truck with the truck hooked up the camper in a campground

We started parking the delivery truck and trailer in front of the side gate so hopefully it does not happen again. One of the techs refused to do oil changes on tractors yesterday, he told me we hired him to work on mowers. The General Manager heard what he said to me and said you were hired to be a technician to work on everything and since you refuse to work on tractors he fired him on the spot.
This is my Saturday to work. I have to fix the AC system on a cab tractor that we have been waiting on parts for and do the service on the tractor that he refused to work on.
Since kindergarten is not mandatory we decided not to send our son to school this year, we decided not to take the risk.

Guy came in on Saturday just before I left for the day and said I'll pay cash for this mower but it has to be delivered today, so I delivered a mower on the way home. Cleaned and organized the belly compartments on the motorhome. I don't get much done when I have to work on Saturdays.
