6.2L gas v8 Mass Airflow Sensor
I have a 2013 F250 with the 6.2L. I installed a S&B cold air intake yesterday and while installing the intake my MAF sensor broke as I was trying to get it out of the stock intake tube. Are there any decent aftermarket MAF sensors out there or am I better off just buying an OEM Motorcraft sensor? And also when installing a new MAF sensor, is it necessary to rest the PCM after installing a new sensor or do I just plug in a new sensor and go?
I think it might have actually been time to replace the sensor anyway because recently before installing this cold air intake, I have noticed the engine rpms pulsating up and down slightly for a few seconds on a cold start up. I did some quick research online and found a couple posts suggesting that pulsating engine rpms on start up could be a sign of a bad or dirty MAF sensor? Not sure if that’s accurate or not.
