2005 excursion 6.0L. How can I fine the Ford part number for a specific nut/bolt/faster...? For example, I have damaged the head (8mm) of the small bolt that holds the heat shield at Y-pipe to the back corner of the HPOP cover. Is there a source online to identify and purchase missing parts like this? None of the OEM parts distributors show the attachment hardware in the diagram with the parts.
The quickest way for me is the FordPartsGiant website or Tascaparts.com. Tasca has the diagrams and I confirm (if necessary) with FordPartsGiant since they can filter by VIN (which I need due to having a 2wd chassis cab).
I was able to quickly find the exact part numbers for the upper and lower door strikers just last week for my extended cab.
You might have to go to Ford's parts website to get some of the bolt part numbers. Tasca, White Bear, etc do not always show the bolt and nut part numbers. If not, you can contact the parts dept at your local dealer or telephone one of the online like Tasca or White Bear.
You might have to create a user name and pw for the Ford Parts site.
