Well, finnally lifted the box on, and it is lookin good!
Heres a pic!
I will get a good side shot to show the new style box on the old truck. Nobody notices the wheelwells untill I tell them they are different!
Can anyone tell me what size exactly the 8 bolts are that hold the box down? I have to get some tommorow!
Go to Ford and ask for the bolts for a 2003 longbed. They are torx head bolts. Buy the nuts for them. If they say it only calls for 6 bolts, have them give you 2 more center bolts.
Here are the part numbers for the bolts:
W706641*S900, requires 2 for short bed and 4 for long, Center bolts
W706642*S900, requires 4 and are the end bolts (longer of the 2 sizes)
The old style bolts are ordered for a 1999. The numbers are as follows (I can't rebember which is the center number, one number will require 4 and the others only2):
no offence to Desperado82 but don't waste your money at the dealership. go to the local hardware store and buy some carrige bolts to hold it on with. they are cheap, just don't forget lock washers.
When we did my 80 f150 (with 82 seat, doors, hood, fenders / 83 tailgate / 86 bed/ 76 van rear leafs) we had problems getting the bed to line up even with the cab... we used some old semi-truck mudflap cut into 2" x 2" spacers as allignment shims and not only did it line it up it quieted alot of the road rattles.
Thats what I did. The dealership told me they wanted 60-70 bux, Trade Price! So I headed over to The lumber stre and got way more than I needed for 23 bux. LOL
