Temperature Sender Location

Hi everyone. I have recently been working on installing the Intellitronix gauge cluster into my 1978 F150 with the 4.6L 300 V6 engine. It is nearly complete but I can't for the life of me find where I need to install the temperature sender. If you could help me figure out what I need to do that would be great. If you have pics, that would be a big help. Thank you.

Follow your upper radiator hose back to the thermostat housing on the engine, and the sender should be right there.

There are different senders for gauges and warning lights, so make sure you've got the right one for your new gauges.

Here is where ours was. Our cluster has the idiot light.

Yellow arrow = threads in block (plugged with tape for painting)

Red arrow = plug from harness

Thank you both for the replies. Meangreen, I had looked there before but did not find anything that would be a sender. The only thing I found that might be a place to put one was a small port beneath the housing behind the belts. It’s kind of a bad pic but you can see it in the bright light right below the housing.

John, I will definitely look there tomorrow. That will be fun trying to reach in there with the tools.

I googled rather than doing the right thing and going out and looking under the hood of my truck.
It is hot out there and I'm tired, in my defense...

John89 - looks like you may have painted yours along with the block... didn't realize I had done mine and had a heck of a time trying to clean the threads where the connector pushes on when I discovered I had no reading on my temp gauge. Despite cleaning it still reads a little low! Hopefully you can profit from my mistake.
