Hi All!
My dad has a 1991 F-150, 300 inline 6 cyl, auto trans...the engine temp gauge on the dash is not working and he thinks it's a sensor or switch but he doesn't know where it's located. Can anyone help us with this problem?
does the gauge move at all??? or just sit there and not do a thing... on my truck it doesnt register in the normal range when driven on the highway and on main roads etc... but when idling the gauge does pick up..
Have a look of intake manifold, where it makes contact to cilinder head, Temperature sender its located exactly under intake bore # 6.
Relative to no Readings on highway, it seem that thermostat is stuck open or no present. Install/replace thermostat because this condittiona cause un-necessary wear to engine.
