I have a 26 ft RV sitting on a 2014 E450 cutaway. On periodic inspection my mecanic told me I had to replace the drag link and tie-rods but he didn.t have time to do so and anyway he doesn't do alignment.
So I went in an alignment shop that do trucks, there not many nearby so they are very busy. I have them change the drag link and they told my that only 1 tie rod needed to be changed. They do the work and the alignment. They also centered the steering wheel. it looks nice and strait: 9-3. I come back home about 35 kms (15 miles) from there and the steering had shift a little bit to the right, it' was tgen at 10-4. I had a quick trip Montreal-Toronto planned so I made about 1000 Kms (600 miles) the next weekend. When I came back the strearing wheel had turn 90 degrees (12-6) and by the time I maid it to the alignment shop it was even whorst (1-7) All that time the truck was not pulling and was going pretty straight when I was removing my hands of the steering...
They looked at it and told the the direction was all stiff,. nothing loose, it was all the same as when I left, except that the steering wheel wasn't at the right place... The never saw that before and had no clue why it did that. So they re-did the whole allignment, re adjusted the steering wheel. The technicien told ne he re-thigten all bolts even added a little tention over what it should be... We'll see if that holds..
I have heard many poeple saying their steering beeing crocked after alignment, but never heard about the position getting worst!!
Check tire pressures and tire wear with a tread depth gauge across the width of each front tire.
Could possibly be the roads you've been traveling---some are constructed with varying degrees of crowning which do affect how the vehicle's steering wheel will "center" itself.
Not saying this is whats wrong with it, but that's just how a steering boxes pitman shaft acts before it sheers off.
Would a alignment/steering specialist awared of the issue be able to not see something that major ??? I went back to the alignment center and they told me everything was fine ... That suck

Would a steering / alignment specialist be able to not see a so major issue ? They said everything is okay when I came back... I will still drive it a few hundred miles to see if the issue is reproducing...
