I think this ought to be a simple question, at least I sure hope so for all of our sakes.
I want to know where the vent system gets the outdoor air to pump through the system in my 1990 F-150 with the 351W and A/C. The A/C has a leak and I feel that the straight vent air is pretty warm, like it is pulling air from very close to the engine, I'd like to cool the incoming can air off a bit if possible and figure the intake might be positioned close to the block and might extend or reposition it.
You will want to check the blend door on the system. There's a good chance that there is an accumulation of stuff blocking the door from opening or closing completely which would explain the outside air feeling warm. I'd also check your vacuum lines that are related to the AC as that will help close the door too.
