Heater valve

1974 F250 with factory air conditioning. I need to buy a heater valve for the heater hose. The actuator has 2 air fittings, so far the only ones I can find are for the later style with one fitting. Is it possible to use the single fitting style by connecting it to the correct hose and plugging the extra?

I am unfamiliar with the valve you have. It would help if you could post a photo of it.

The vacuum hose from the top of the diaphragm's dome probably goes to the heater control on the dash. Correct? Where does the second one go?

Here's the vacuum line routing for the early system. The water valve is at the bottom right of the picture.

Thanks for the diagram, it looks like they modulate the water flow to control the temperature. It must have been less than optimum because the change to single port valve later. I think I have a 1975 HVAC control panel. i will locate it and see if it will swap out.

There's only ONE heater water valve for 1974's from serial number U40,001 & 1975/79 // see all the applications for this puppy

It's spliced into the heater hose on the right rear of the engine compartment.

D4AZ-18495-A (replaced D1AZ-18495-A) .. Vacuum Controlled Heater Water Valve - Use with factory installed integral A/C (Motorcraft YG-136) / AVAILABLE from Ford & auto parts stores.

1973/79 F100/350 // 1975/91 E100/350// 1978/79 Bronco // 1971/79 Misc FoMoCo Passenger Cars // 1986 Taurus/Sable

This valve has been a notorious POS since day one. It gets stuck in the open or partially open or closed or partially closed position.

I don't recall ever seeing one with more than one vacuum line. That's probably why.
