Trying to figure out what would be the best carburetor to use on a 351 Modified

2V or 4V ?

its got 4 valves per cylinder, at the moment we have a holly on it but it will not prime up enough fuel to crank on it's own, we wanted to ask on this site and find out what might be wrong with this carb and what's the best carb to use on this engine

The "V" in (2V or 4V) is for Venturi. In other words, Do you have a 2-barrel or 4-barrel carburetor/intake manifold?

it has a 4 barrel carb a 650 Holly

If fuel is not getting to the carb, that's not a carb issue. Your fuel fuel line might be clogged with rust, have pin holes, or something. Are you still running a mechanical pump?
