351 what type

I have a carb 1987 351 F-250 Custom. What type of 351 did these trucks come with. Plus what was the difference with the M motor verses the C and W motors. Any info would be appreciated.

351 what type

The 351 W is probably what you have. W stands for Windsor version,C stands for Cleveland, and M stands for Modified which was a model used from 1977-1979 when Ford was trying to get trucks in line with EPA standards. I had a 351M in a 1979 which I wasn't wild about but did okay.
